The Veteran Outreach Program is managed by Veterans and Veteran advocates who seek to address common issues within the Veteran community ranging from homelessness to trouble accessing VA healthcare. Services include referrals for emergency and/or transitional housing, rehabilitation services, accessing VA healthcare, and educational benefits and employment. Additionally, direct services can be tailored to individual needs and may include court accompaniment, coordination with law enforcement, and support for victims of violence and for combat veterans. Former and current service members who reside in Graham, Clay, Swain, Macon, Cherokee, Jackson, and Haywood Counties are eligible for services.
