The Basics

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Clinician/Therapist to join our team. The therapist selected for this role will provide comprehensive mental health support to youth who have experienced trauma or victimization. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, and providing crisis intervention. This role also requires a commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for clients while employing evidence-based practices. This position plays a crucial role in providing empathetic, trauma-informed care and guidance to individuals who have been affected by crime, ensuring they have the resources and emotional support necessary to move toward healing and stability. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to serving Western North Carolina, with the ability to strengthen outreach efforts, coordinate with internal teams, and build partnerships with external stakeholders to enhance awareness and improve access to mental health services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual therapy to children and youth exposed to violence
  • Deliver services utilizing evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and community partners to provide coordinated and comprehensive services.
  • Participate in local community collaborative efforts and coordinated community response teams.
  • Assist with development and delivery of program-relevant training to partners and the community.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for clients.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to improve therapeutic skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to conduct thorough assessments and maintain detailed records.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional growth.

    Requirements

  • Masters level Licensed therapist in child/family mental health or comparable or eligible for licensure under supervision by a licensed supervising therapist
  • Victim advocacy certification helpful or experience working in advocacy organizations
  • Experience in working with families in crisis through victimization related to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology and software applications
  • Work collaboratively with team members to provide a comprehensive Latina program.
  • Assist with community collaborative efforts related to the Latina programs and assist with coordinated community response.
  • Experience and/or ability to provide program relevant training.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on empathy and active listening.
  • Regular travel throughout the seven far western counties of North Carolina (Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Swain, Graham, Clay and Cherokee).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
