Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault

TAKE ACTION

Immigrant Outreach

The Immigrant Outreach Program seeks to mobilize a network of service providers and information in order to increase access to advocacy and mental health services for immigrant families impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.
The program’s bilingual (Spanish-English) staff provides the following services:

  • Outreach in local restaurants, markets, schools and events to share bilingual materials with community members and raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault;
  • Advocacy for immigrant survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, including interpretation and translation assistance, court accompaniment, filing protection orders, referrals for emergency shelter and immigration and other legal relief options;
  • Mental Health services for those in need of crisis counseling, individual and/or group therapy. A bilingual trauma-informed therapist provides these services for immigrant survivors and their non-offending family members;
  • Training for partner agencies seeking to build cultural humility and trauma-informed initiatives in their teams and/or offices.
